Are you a female student who will be taking what is seen as a 'course for men' next year? Then you may be a little nervous about this, but don't worry:
Many women have gone before you!
To make the transition to this new world easier, we organize the Ladies Introduction Days (LID). This is especially for women who will be taking a real 'course for men'.
As it's easy to get lost amongst all the men, it's a good idea to meet the other women on your course, and on other courses, in advance.
This often results in new friendships being formed straight away, something that can sometimes be difficult within a course.
Female students from studies at the University of Twente with less than 10% girls.
This year that includes the studies: Technical Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Information Technology,
Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics
The Ladies Introduction Days begins on Monday 19 August at 10:00h in the Educafé and ends on Wednesday morning 21 August at the registration of the General Kick-In.
During three days you will have an amazing time with a group of fun girls.
The programme consists of study related activities such as lab work and also social activities such as a scavenger hunt, playing pool and a High Tea.
Participating in the LID is completely free!
You can sign up on the website of the Kick-In. The sign-up for the LID opens when then Kick-In sign-up is open.
It closes a few days earlier since the LID starts earlier than the Kick-In.
No, just as in the Kick-In, there are no sleeping places arranged.
The LID takes place from monday morning the 19th of August till the morning of the 21nd of August when we will walk together to the entrance of the Kick-In.
Yes, if you have to leave at sometime, for example for a hospitality meeting, you are free to leave.
